Mouth Guards

Get the protection you need

Dental mouth guards are commonly used to protect teeth, gums, and supporting tissue from damage, injury, and trauma. Customized mouth guards, designed in our partnering lab and fitted by us, prevent injury and ensure that athletes maintain the highest level of performance on the field, court, and rink.

Do I really need a mouth guard?

There are several factors that you may want to take into account when considering a mouth guard. Mouth guards protect:

  • Teeth from nighttime grinding.
  • Lips and teeth during high impact sports.
  • Lips if you wear braces.
  • Fragile bridgework.

What should I expect when I am fitted for a mouth guard?

We will take an impression of your teeth that will be used as a mold for your mouth guard. We send the impression to a professional dental laboratory where the precise information is used to create a mouth guard that fits snugly and comfortably.

Should I follow any special instructions?

We will provide you with instructions on how and when to wear your new mouth guard. Mouth guards are customized according to each patient’s needs, so if you suffer from TMJ or grinding, you’ll wear your guard at night to decrease bite pressure and strain on your jaw. If you’re an athlete, you’ll likely be advised to use your guard when you’re physically active.

How do I care for my mouth guard?

We recommend you store your mouth guard in a sturdy container when it’s not in your mouth. Cleaning your mouth guard by soaking it in cool, soapy water after use will ensure thorough sanitation. Effervescent tablets are encouraged.

How often will my mouth guard need to be replaced?

Our mouth guards are designed for durability, but it is important to occasionally look for signs of wear and tear. Children and teens will need to replace their mouth guards more frequently because of their growing jaws and changing teeth.

How much does a mouth guard cost?

Our expertly crafted mouth guards cost a little more upfront than those sold at retail stores, but their sturdiness and comfort makes them more wearable and effective over the long haul. Investing in our high quality mouth guards will ultimately save you money.
