Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As oral and maxillofacial surgeons, Drs. Grant, Fontanesi, and Poidmore manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Our doctors practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. We can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures.
Our staff is trained in assisting with intravenous (IV) sedation or outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art office setting. Each staff member is BLS-certified and our back office staff members are all experienced and have completed the Certified Oral Surgery Assistant training course, as well as advanced training in anesthesia and emergencies. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.
The educational side of C.O.R.E. is an ultramodern teaching facility dedicated to raising the bar of excellence in implant dentistry and office anesthesia learning. The center provides comprehensive training for dentists in all aspects of implant reconstruction including surgery and restorative procedures. We are also providers of basic and advanced life support, and teach emergency training for dental offices and other healthcare providers.
