
Dr. Poidmore received his B.A. degree from Youngstown State University and his D.D.S. degree from Marquette University School of Dentistry. He completed a one year dental internship with the State Institutional Dental Service of Florida, and then completed one year of residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester N.Y. Dr. Poidmore entered the U.S. Navy and completed three additional years of residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, MD, and the U.S. Naval Hospital Boston, Massachusetts. He served as Chief Dental Officer on the aircraft carrier USS Forestal (CVA 59 ). He is also the former Director and Chief of residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Long Beach V. A. Medical Center, Long Beach, Ca. He has held a teaching appointment at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry as Assistant Clinical Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Poidmore is presently on staff with St Joseph Hospital, Orange, CA. and Hoag Memorial Hospital, Newport Beach, CA., and is a voluntary staff member of the Lestonnac Free Clinic Orange, CA.
